Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Ease back into things by always going out in groups. Meet the ones you have found interesting online, but make it clear it will be with a group of friends in a public place so as neither feel any pressure. You might be surprised how, in a setting like that...with fewer pressures, can help you get to know one another better without all the stress. Who knows, after the first couple of times, you might be ready to go one on one? Good luck!

All I've got to say is that you have to relax. My best friend (he's 65) has a daughter who has become a very good friend too. She was single, is now engaged and getting married this summer. They met the same way Shannon and I met. Online, through Lavalife. It's been a year and a half for them, three years for Shannon and I. One common theme though is that we'd given up and were not looking for that perfect mate. We were dating for fun. Lisa was ready to give up on finding Mr. Right. I told her she was trying way way too hard. She needed to date for FUN ! Bam ! There he was within a couple of weeks. Amazing but true. SOoooooooo.... stop worrying about it, just go out for the fun. What will be will be. Do not ever take any of it too seriously. That's when it bites.
Hugs and prayers.
